Fond Doux Holiday Plantation in St Lucia is a 19th century colonial plantation hotel set in nature amidst the lush, tropical foliage of St Lucia’s breadbasket, historical centre and world heritage site, Soufriere. Soufriere, home to St Lucia’s majestic Pitons, a world heritage site, forms the backdrop to this rustic, ecological plantation hotel which effortlessly marries old world colonial with every modern amenity in nature’s richest surroundings. Imbued with a magical ambience, Fond Doux Plantation estate in St Lucia is ensconced in verdant tropical gardens, and surrounded by one of Soufriere’s most active agricultural plantations. The French colonial estate house overlooks lush green gardens and original colonial cocoa racks and is minutes away from one of nature’s wonders, the Pitons world heritage site.

Hotel Accommodation
The accommadation is made up of nine cottages and two suites,each is equipped with a Safe, Fridge, Coffee maker, Iron & Board , Hair dryer, Ceiling fans,Telephone and Start up Bar.

Angelina

This is a 160 year old colonial house which was slated for demolition in the city of Castries. This two story villa was purchased from the original owner, dismantled and trucked to Fond Doux, it was then rebuilt and restored by artisans who specialize in the old building techniques.

This Building typifies Caribbean architecture in a beautiful, airy and bright way accented with allusions to the French colonial style including attractive jalousie shutters and exotic touches of white gingerbread on the outside verandas. On the top floor there is a spacious master bedroom and bathroom, on the bottom floor a dining room, bathroom, living room, a divan bed in the living room and an outside kitchen. Prince Charles visited this cottage as part of his official tour of Fond Doux Plantation.

African Tulip

Built in a gingerbread fashion which extends out to cover a jalousie shaded porch with a comfortable seating area overlooking the gardens. This cottage has a bedroom with en-suite bathroom with the interior decorated in cool colors in contrast to the vibrant rain-forest surroundings. The exterior is covered in shingles from the rain-forest. The cupboards in the patios are equipped with a basic kitchen (fridge, hot plate, electric kettle and kitchen basics).

Bamboo

Unique cottage crafted by architects in the best tropical hardwood, with hand-crafted King-size four poster bed, en-suite bathroom and rain-forest shingles which adds to the rustic tranquility and authenticity of the plantation and also has a porch which is shaded by surrounding trees. The cupboards in the patios are equipped with a basic kitchen (fridge, stove, sink. hot plate, electric kettle and kitchen basics).

Cinnamon

Fine Indonesian woodwork combined with colonial architecture set amidst the lush green vegetation on the plantation, with a bedroom and sitting area covered with a bamboo rafted roof, en-suite bathroom to the back and a veranda to the front with hardwood crafted rocking chairs.

Furnished with a King four poster bed, combined with locally made bamboo lamps, bright tropical drapes at the windows and doors. An Indonesian woodwork cupboard holds a fridge, electric kettle and coffee machine. Lush tropical foliage and colorful flowering plants flourish throughout the Plantation and surround the cottages adding a sense of privacy for guests. This cottage has become famous with honeymoon couples.

Cocoa Tree

With a mixed decor of antique furniture, accessories crafted by local artisans and St. Lucian artwork, this two bedroom cottage with two king sized four poster beds, each with its own private en-suite bathrooms. This family cottage comes with a full kitchen, dining room and living room area. The patio with comfortable rocking chairs is surrounded by a sprawling lawn with orange trees, grapefruit trees, tangerine trees, banana trees, calabash tree, cocoa trees, mango trees, coconut trees, sousop trees, guava trees.

Avocado

Caribbean architecture in a stunning location situated in the heart of the plantation. This two bedroom cottage each with its own private en-suite bathroom, spacious living room area, dining room, full kitchen with an interior of tropical colors which blends with the plantation. All bedrooms have their own secluded patio with comfortable local crafted rocking chairs. The patio to the front overlooks a giant plum tree with a mountain vista replete with riotous tropical plants and flowers.

Hilltop Coconut

Perched on the hillside, on a forested ridge amongst the towering coconut trees, this cottage has a colorful and vibrant decor, with one bedroom, en-suite bathroom comfortable sitting area with fine forest seasoned furniture and a patio overlooking the plantation. It has a fridge, electric kettle, telephone, ceiling fan and clock radio.

Hilltop Guava

This is a one bedroom cottage with an en-suite bathroom, patio to the front elegantly furnished with an eclectic blend of modern and antique furniture perched on the hillside, this cottage is upholstered with a multitude of bright colored pillows, curtains and mats adding a tropical burst to the room which forms a kaleidoscope of colours. Four poster bed made with local rain-forest timber draped with mosquito netting. It has a fridge, electric kettle, telephone, ceiling fans, clock radio.

Hibiscus

This beautiful suite is part of the main estate house which was one of the first rooms to be opened for guests, surrounded by lovely tropical gardens which overlooks the cocoa drying trays on the plantation. This room has a queen sized rattan bed with en-suite bathroom and a balcony with locally crafted rocking chairs.

Banana Tree

The Cocoa Pod and Jardin Cacao Restaurants at Fond Doux Holiday Plantation offer up sumptuous Caribbean and international cuisine in beautiful tropical environs. Set amid the tropical gardens of Fond Doux estate, these two restaurants enjoy tropical breezes and bright tropical light where diners can appreciate the truly magical ambiance of the estate.

Lunch is usually a buffet featuring both local and international fare served in traditional Creole earthenware. Diners can expect delicious nutritional meals from our chef that capture the essence of Caribbean living.

Breakfast – from 7:30am to 11am.
Lunch – from 11am to 4pm.
Dinner – 6pm to 8pm (optional later nights can be arranged)
