FDR is an all-inclusive resort for families built in a low-rise Tuscan-style architectural style, surrounded by gardens bordered by a white sand beach and the Caribbean Sea to the North. There are 4 restaurants, 3 swimming pools, an infant/toddler waterplay feature, Heely track and separate activity centres for children and teens, providing a wide variety of supervised activities The 100-foot-long waterslide, affectionately called "Big Blue", creates a lot of fun for kids and adults alike. WiFi is complimentary and is property wide.

Upon arrival at Franklyn D. Resort and Spa, you are greeted by your family's own Vacation Nanny. She is your family's Vacation Assistant and will be with you from check-in to check-out. From participating in activities with the family, to keeping your kids entertained while you take advantage of all the adult activities like kayaking, she removes the stresses from your holiday.

Hotel Accommodation
There are 76 deluxe one, two and three bedroom suites with separate living and dining areas, kitchens, cable TV and LAN Access. All suites are air-conditioned and feature either a large balcony or a garden terrace. The newest addition is a 1400 square foot Honeymoon Suite, complete with a luxurious bathroom with a jacuzzi tub and 800 square foot deck on the beach.

Oceanview and Oceanfront One-bedroom suites

Separate living room with day-bed, dining room, ceiling fan, satellite TV, iPod docking station, DVD player, free Wireless access and phone.
Private balcony or terrace, most with an ocean view.

Oceanview and Oceanfront Two-bedroom suites

Oceanfront Three-bedroom suites

Two private air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a king-sized bed and its own full bathroom with shower and bathtub. The third private air-conditioned bedroom has two twin beds and a full bathroom with shower and bathtub. Separate living/dining room with day-bed, satellite TV, telephone, iPod docking station, DVD player and free wireless access Kitchen with refrigerator. Spacious patio. Additional rollaway bed and crib available.

Honeymoon Suite

The Beachside Honeymoon Suite is 1400 square feet with an 800 square foot deck, just steps from the sea. Your own jacuzzi tub highlights a luxurious bathroom. Private air-conditioned master bedroom, complete with a king-sized bed and TV, and luxurious bathroom with shower and jacuzzi bathtub.The second air-conditioned bedroom has TV, telephone and free LAN access, a king sized bed and a refrigerator stocked with snacks.Rollaway bed and crib are available.

FDR offer a broad array of enticing entrees at mealtime that are complemented by tempting side dishes and an abundance of the best tropical fruits like papaw, mango, pineapple, melons and bananas.

The Veranda Restaurant

On the boardwalk over the ocean or in the open-air dining room, the Verandah Restaurant serves international cuisine in family atmosphere. Bountiful buffet breakfasts are served every morning. At lunchtime you'll find another buffet feast of salads, hot entrees and scrumptious desserts. At dinnertime you can choose from an international menu featuring French and Jamaican specialties

The Overproof Restaurant

The newest addition, The Overproof Restaurant specializes in authentic Jamaican cuisine. Open for dinner only 5 evenings per week from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Located on the beach and decorated in true Jamaican red, gold and green, guests can dine on such ethnic delights as escoveitched fish and bammy, oxtail and curried conch. The Pier Restaurant

The Pier Restaurant, the gourmet Italian fare is as delightful as the setting. Dining at this adults-only. Meals include elaborate antipasto displays, wine, a great choice of salads, soups, pasta and entrees, delectable desserts and cheeses. Open for dinner five evenings per week, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Kidz Buffet

After an energetic and active day in the sea and sun, children are offered a great spread at the Kidz Buffet. A well-balanced, buffet-style meal is served on tables just the right height for our smaller guests. The menu is specially planned to suit little palates. Specialties include spaghetti and meatballs, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, fish fingers, a selection of healthy salads, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, hot dogs and hamburgers. The Kidz Buffet runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. Fruits, juices, milk, our popular non-alcoholic daiquiris, chocolate milk, softy ice cream and dessert treats are also available. After dinner there is ping pong, pool, air hockey and foosball to keep the kids entertained until the Kiddies Disco opens at 7:30pm.

Sa Cotton Tree Grill

For all-day snacks, the beach grill is open from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily. It features popular specialties like Jamaican beef patties, mouth-watering jerk pork and jerk chicken, simmered in your choice of mild to piquant sauces. The chef also prepares a variety of specialty sandwiches and all-time favorites like pizzas, hamburgers and hot dogs.

On offer is snorkeling at the coral reefs, along with snorkeling lessons and trips out on our own glass-bottom boat. Other water sports include kayaking and sailing.

The gym is fully-equipped so you have the chance to stay in shape. Use of machines and weights, and aerobic and aquacize classes are all part of the package.

The games room is equipped with pool tables and table tennis. Also on offer day and night is tennis on the lit court. Then there is beach/pool volleyball, basketball, soccer, foosball and cycling.

Entertainment at The Franklyn D. Resort and Spa is nightly and lively. Every night, the resident band will keep you dancing under the stars. From ska to soca to reggae, you will dance your way through the captivating sounds of the Caribbean. Jamaica's talented cabaret singers will entertain you, or you can show off your talent in our Staff and Guest talent show. Bedtime ends up taking a backseat to a fascinating variety of singers, dance troupes, acrobats, limbo, fire-eaters and contortionists.

BIG BLUE- One of the biggest hits with kids is the 100-foot water slide, affectionately known as "Big Blue". For children who can swim, zooming down the twists and turns of the slide and making a big splash in Big Blue's own pool is a rush they'll want over and over.

Your Vacation Nanny is highly-trained and is on hand from 9:00 to 4:40 to take the worry out of your holiday. If you need her in the evenings, she is available at an additional cost. Warm, attentive and friendly, she respects your privacy and will be there only when needed. Should parents need time alone to relax, or to go shopping, scuba diving or to participate in all the other activities, your Vacation Nanny will care for your children by taking them to the pool or beach, the playground, for a walk, or to any of the many games, crafts and activities offered every day. Vacation Nannies also are happy to bathe and dress your children, as well as make sure they're fed at mealtimes. In addition, they will make sure your fridge is fully stocked with items of your choice before your return to your suite -- which they will always keep neat and tidy.

Spa Information
Sea Grape Spa - Located on the water, at the eastern boundary of the resort. Massages, along with baths and other spa treatments, are enjoyed here. Guests enjoy seaside treatment rooms where they are indulged with distinctive ancient Asian and European techniques, combined with natural Jamaican spices, fruits and minerals.
