Royal Plantation at Fowl Cay is a resort unlike any other, A private 50-acre island in the Bahamian chain of the Exumas, it lies just 200 miles from Miami and features six fully stocked villas, innumerable secluded coves and white-sand beaches. There is a hilltop restaurant that serves spectacular cuisine.

Enjoy some of the most sophisticated cocktails, sparkling society and tantalizing cuisine to be found at the Harbour Club restaurant, which sits atop Fowl Cay’s highest point.

Hotel Accommodation
The elite resort features six freestanding one-, two- and three-bedroom villas. The island can be rented in its entirety, and sleeps up to 30 people in total. The décor of each is house is unique and
features hand-selected art, furnishings, and luxury linens. Each villa has central air conditioning, a full kitchen (generously stocked with breakfast and snack provisions; lunch, dinner, and house beverages are included in room rate), satellite TV, VCR, CD, and DVD players, and Molton Brown amenities. Each villa has its own dedicated golf cart for exploring the island, beach-cruiser bicycles, and a motorboat to take excursions to uninhabited islands, diving reefs, and fishing spots.

VILLA DESCRIPTIONS:
The Birdcage— Set high on a bluff on the east end of the island, this sumptuous two bedroom, two-bathroom home features incredible views of the sea on three sides. It is decorated in a casually elegant, Bahamian style with crisp white linens and mahogany, blue and green accents. The oversized living room houses a gas fireplace.

Bluemoon—The plantation-style villa consists of three bedrooms and three bathrooms—The wicker furniture decorated back patio leads straight to a white-sand private beach on the north side of the island.

Sweetwater—Sister cottage to Bluemoon, and also set on the peaceful north side of the island,this palatial three-bedroom, three-bathroom villa has a modern, clean-lined style including a predominance of white-painted wood. Its open-air patios offer breathtaking views of the sea.

Starlight & Seabreeze—Perched on the southwestern coast of Royal Plantation Island, these two identical, two-bedroom, two-bathroom accommodations suspend guests in the verdant brush above the sea, each comprising two cottage-style “pods” connected via open-air walkways.

Lindon— This sunny one-bedroom, one-bathroom villa is made-to-order for honeymooning couples. The plantation-style home has the feel of a cozy, well-appointed home: It is filled with books, games, and patchwork quilts.

Harbour Club

Enjoy some of the most sophisticated cocktails, good company and tantalizing cuisine to be found at the Harbour Club restaurant, which sits atop Fowl Cay’s highest point.

Dine in the plush dining room with its rattan-encased chandeliers, the chink of glasses and the pungent aromas of tasty fare.

Or dine by candlelight under the stars on one of the two limestone terraces offering stunning views of the moonlit ocean below

Beach Games
Bocce and Horseshoe courts are on the South Beach. The balls/shoes are either on the court or in the boathouse.
Sailing
Two small sailboats can be found at the South Beach.

Sea Kayaking
Seven Sea Kayaks can be found on the South Beach.

Tennis
There is a tennis court available for guests.

Swimming
Swim in the freshwater pool (located at the Harbour Club) or in the beautiful sea that surrounds the island.

Walking Trail
A walking trail extends from just beyond the tennis court (the north side of the court) to the west end of the island.

Music, TV, Movies & Books
Harbour Club Games
The Harbour Club is always open for guests to enjoy. Play pool, darts, backgammon, cards, dominoes, chess, checkers or any of a number of board games.

Exercise Room
Head up to the Harbour Club to work out on the elliptical trainer, the treadmill, jump rope or free weights.

Diving Information
The shallow waters of the Bahamas make an ideal area for scuba diving and snorkelling.

The Exumas have the best snorkeling in the Bahamas and snorkels, masks and fins are available.

Guides can be arranged to fish for Wahoo, Mahi-Mahi, Barracuda and Mackerel (depending on the season).

TO THE NORTH

Warderick Wells
Visit the Exuma Land and Sea Park headquarters at Warderick Wells with a local guide.

Reef of Halls Pond
Snorkel the reef to the east of Halls Pond Cay and see if you can find one of the spectacular spotted eagle rays that live there.

Sea Aquarium
See if you can find the sunken plane west of the Sea Aquarium and snorkel on it.

Rocky Dundas
Another great snorkel spot - swim into the small cave and see the stalagmites and stalactites.

Rachel's Bubble Bath
A swimming hole known as Rachel's Bubble Bath - if the tide is high and the wind is right, the waves of the ocean crash over the rocks into the pool.

Compass Cay Marina
Visit Tucker at the Compass Cay Marina who has a family of pet nurse sharks.

Snorkel Over Yonder Cay
Over Yonder Cay (a private island) is located just northeast of Little Sampson Cay.

Twin Cays Picnic Island
Twin Cays is a small, undeveloped island just west of the main entrance to Sampson Cay Marina. There's a picnic table under the large casuarina tree.

Sampson Cay Marina
Visit the Sampson Cay Marina located on Little Sampson Cay. Lunch and dinner are served every day, but Sunday, at their dining room.

TO THE SOUTH

Sandy Cay
To the west (and a little south) of Fowl Cay is Sandy Cay, a small, undeveloped island with a wonderful beach.

Big Major Beaches
A boat guide takes guests over to one of the two northernmost beaches on Big Major Spot.

Thunderball Grotto
One of the most renowned snorkel spots in the Bahamas, Thunderball Grotto is the westernmost of three small rock islands located closely together in a row between Big Major Spot and the Staniel Cay Yacht Club. The James Bond movie, Thunderball, as well as the film Splash, were filmed here.

Club Thunderball
Club Thunderball, located just to the northeast of the grotto, is a local bar and restaurant opened daily except Monday during "the season".

Staniel Cay
Staniel Cay is a charming community of about 100 native Bahamians and 70 vacation homeowners. Walking through "town" gives a great vibe for what native living in the Bahamas is all about.

Staniel Cay Yacht Club
A social hub of the region, "the yacht club" has been around since the 60's. Open for lunch and dinner daily, it is on Jimmy Buffet's list of top ten favourite island bars.

Iguana
Visit the large iguana that live on Gaulin Cay South.

Little Farmer's Cay
Visit this charming community of about 45 full time residents (you will need a guide).

GETTING TO ROYAL PLANTATION AT FOWL CAY

Step 1: Fly to Nassau, Bahamas or Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.

Step 2: Take a short, 40-minute charter from Nassau or 2 hour charter from Ft. Lauderdale to Staniel Cay Airstrip (MYES). (1.25 miles from Fowl Cay)

Step 3: The Royal Plantation Island Boat will pick you up at Staniel Cay for the short 10 minutes boat ride back to the island.
