CHILDREN'S PROGRAMME:
The children's club at Carlisle Bay, is situated within the hotel’s tropical gardens. The Cool Kids Club is open six days a week from 8.30 to 12 and then 1pm to 4.15. The kids club is free to children aged three years and above.
The facility is located on the west side of the gardens, adjacent to the tennis courts and will cater for children from 6 months to 12 years old.
The new building has an open-plan, air conditioned room and a large shaded terrace area. There are swings, a sandpit and a paddling pool within an enclosed area. This links to one of Carlisle Bay’s nine tennis courts which has been converted into four mini courts suitable for children.
The safe beach and the spacious two-roomed Beach Suites already make the hotel a popular choice for families. The addition of the new children’s club means that parents can look forward to an even more relaxing break.
Couples seeking a peaceful or romantic break will find that families and children will tend to migrate to the west side of the resort where the children’s club and Beach Suites are located leaving the east side of the resort and the Ocean Suites relatively childfree. (No children under 12 are accommodated in the Ocean Suites).
Carlisle Bay’s children’s Club Manager has great child care experience and NNEB qualifications. All club staff have first aid certificates and will be certified up to NVQ level 2 in Early Years Care.
Children will generally be split into the following age groups:
· Crèche for children from six months to three years old
· Four to seven years
· Eight to twelve years
· Teenagers
There will be no charge for children from four to twelve to attend the children’s club and no charge for teenagers to use the unsupervised recreation room.
There will be a daily charge for babies and toddlers cared for in the crèche of $15 per hour plus service & tax (currently 20.5%).
On arrival at Carlisle Bay families are presented with a weekly activity programme, welcome gifts for the children and children’s robes.
Hotel Children Information
Crew Blue summer activity programme designed specifically for children aged 7-12 years launches at Carlisle Bay, Antigua this summer. The complimentary programme starts on 19th July and includes a variety of ‘a la carte’ activities throughout the day. It enhances the already successful Cool Kid’s Club which caters for younger children
The Crew Blue summer activity programme includes a variety of sporting activities such as crash ball rounders, five-a-side football, beach volleyball, kayak turtle hunts and a tennis clinic on one of the nine tennis courts. There is also a variety of less fast paced activities which include a hotel garden tour with coconut picking, kitchen masterclasses and junior yoga. Optional trips include rain forest zip wire and visits to Stingray city. One to one swimming and tennis lessons are also available.
All these fantastic activities are hosted and organised by qualified staff enabling parents to relax knowing their children are in safe hands. On arrival at the resort, families receive a weekly activity programme, welcome gifts for the children and children’s bathrobes.

VITALITY PROGRAM
For those interested in learning how to effectively improve their health and fitness, eight Vitality Programmes running from November 2008 to August 2009 will be of interest. The four or seven night programmes offer relaxation and the opportunity to have fun with like-minded individuals. Participants are welcome to come alone or with a friend. Individual programmes will be devised so anyone with a reasonable state of health may participate.
On the first morning Carlisle Bay’s Executive Chef will give a talk on the menus and ingredients used at Carlisle Bay and provide his recommendations on the best dishes for the week to enhance the exercise programme. Recipes will be provided. To maximise the benefits of the stay it is recommended that guests take full advantage of a personal consultation where an individual programme will be provided. Attending two early evening talks on goal-setting and exercise programming is also recommended.
Every day from Monday to Saturday there will be three opportunities to exercise in the cool of the morning:
6 am - A run, hike or beach circuits
7 am – Yoga on the jetty or in The Yoga Pavilion set in Carlisle Bay’s lush gardens
8 am – Pilates in The Yoga Pavilion (Tuesday – Saturday)
In the afternoon there will be supervised cardio circuits in the well equipped gymnasium followed by stretch and mobility exercises. Other activities will include tennis clinics, a bay swim and the Vitality Week Challenge involving water and beach activities.
The Vitality Programmes commencing 9 November 2008 and 17 May 2009 will include Kundalini yoga classes led by Maya Fiennes in the morning and afternoon.
Two 60 minute Wellbeing Massage treatments per guest are included in the programmes. The massages combine relaxing as well as therapeutic techniques and are ideal for those participating in an exercise programme, relieving aches and pains whilst allowing mental relaxation.
